Men and Orcs try to unite after their worlds collide with each other. It’s always fun to get lost in another universe. This doesn’t capture the world of World of Warcraft like Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones does. I’ll explain a little more on that later but let’s talk about the rest of the movie. The acting was ok and all of the cast didn’t have enough time to develop or made us root for any of them. They REALLY wanted you to pick a side but none of them have any personality and all of them are very clichéd characters. The action was the only great thing about the film. It’s very brutal and gritty for a PG-13 movie. Nothing wrong with that at all. The locations looked nice at first then after awhile you can see the obvious green screen or CGI. Now back to what I was talking about in the beginning of my review, the lands they show us is always changing to place to place without fully showing the beauty of the location. They sometimes show a character in a place that doesn’t have any relevance to the plot. Just there to make fans know what’s going on. That’s another huge thing: this is made for fans of the game and not for people who don’t play the game. Nothing is explained because the fans will understand. Directors should understand that some people don’t have time or care for video games. Video game based movies should be like book based movies. To make audiences understand what’s going on and why it’s relevant. If you played the games I guess go see it cause I never played the games so wouldn’t know if it’s faithful to them or not. I have say it was not a good movie for people like me who have no idea what’s going on. Verdicit: 5.2.
